Process
The first activity you will do is to explore who Arnold Schöenberg the person is at the following website. Next you will read the following articles at the following websites; NY Times, The New Yorker, & The Guardian. You will now explore Schöenberg’s music; Drei Klavierstücke op. 11. Let this piece act as a muse for your own composition. Now you will write a 1 page paper with your reaction to Schöenberg.
Go to composertools.com to input your own 12 tone row in the matrix and use which ever row you would like. Please print out the row you create and attach it to your composition. The composition does not have to be long but it does have to follow the rules of serialism that we went over in class.
